The effort will last till the end of the year.

DEER PARK, NY — The John F. Kennedy Intermediate School recently began a drive for Ronald McDonald House, a charity that houses families who have children that are ill and need to stay in the hospital. Families are able to stay close to their children at minimal or no cost.
JFK’s drive, led by fifth-grade teacher Eileen Tuozzo, will last for the remainder of the
school year, helping to fund the Ronald McDonald House stay for families by collecting pop
tabs from soup and soda cans.

The Ronald McDonald House chapters collect soda can pop tabs because they contain the most pure aluminum and are thus valuable for recycling.
