Deer Park School District Hires Two Associate School Principals
Matthew Comiskey and Lynn Cole will begin the school year at May Moore Primary School and John Quincy Adams Primary School.
DEER PARK, NY —Deer Park students and parents will see two new faces as primary school associate principals this fall. Matthew Comiskey has been hired at May Moore Primary School and Lynn Coyle will take over the position at John Quincy Adams Primary School.
They will take over the role from Tammy Alcalde, who becomes May Moore's principal.
Comiskey previously worked at the Northport-East Northport School District as the curriculum and instructional coordinator. Before that he taught second and third grade in Northport and served as a math interventionist. Comiskey lives in Smithtown and received a bachelor’s degree in childhood education and master’s degree in special education from LIU Post, and an advanced certificate in educational administration from Stony Brook University.

“I am thrilled to partner with Mrs. Alcalde and the talented faculty and staff at May Moore to continue to foster a student-centered environment where each child can reach their fullest potential,” he said in a news release from Deer Park School District.
Coyle comes from Islip School District, where she spent 19 years in the classroom. She has taught second grade at Maude S. Sherwood Elementary School and was a New York City classroom teacher for three years.

Coyle is a resident of Yaphank. Her bachelor’s degree is in elementary education from Dowling College, and her master’s degree is in special education from Long Island University. Coyle also has a doctorate degree in administration and leadership from St. John's University.
“I am truly honored to be the new associate principal at JQA,” she said.
“I am greatly looking forward to meeting everyone in the community and fostering strong relationships with the students, teachers, parents and administrators. It is important to me that all of our students feel valued and loved while they grow as learners.”
