"My experience at the Model United Nations at Hofstra University was extremely positive," said White, who headed a future crisis committee for the Arctic Region at the conference. "It helped to hone my debate and compromise skills and exposed me to many other students who are interested in world affairs. It was a very enjoyable experience and I would not hesitate to do it again."
Students prepared by researching and writing position papers on key issues from the perspective of their countries and included parliamentary procedure, debate and resolution drafting.

"I had the opportunity to be the articulate student I knew was always inside of me," said Haggerty. "I got to meet so many new people and got to discuss World issues. My committee, DISEC, actually passed a viable resolution that could easily work in real life. I can’t stress enough how excited I am to go back next year!"
