Bo Still Needs a Home; Rainy Thursday Expected
Your guide to what's happening in the community.

Happy Thursday, East Hampton. While the weather forecast isn't great, there's lots to look forward to — especially since the weekend is almost here.
-- Scattered thunderstorms are expected today, and it will be humid with a high of 79. The chance of rain is 50 percent, so you will likely have to forgo the beach. We had some great weather the past few days, so we can't really complain, right?
-- With the weather not cooperating, you may be looking for something for the kids to do. "Wreck-It Ralph" will be screened at the Amagansett Library at 3:30 p.m., as part of the family-friendly movies series this summer. The library even provides snacks.
-- Attention bookworms: Peter Gethers will discuss and sign his new book, "ASK BOB," at Bookhampton in East Hampton at 7 p.m.
-- End your evening with some live music poolside (indoors if the rain sticks around) at The Backyard Restaurant at Solé East Resort in Montauk. Winston Ire and the Selective Security Band will perform reggae, starting at 8 p.m. Can't make it Thursday night? Music continues on Friday with DJ FAZE and Sunday with DJ Ana after 1 p.m.
-- Have you bought your tickets to Authors Night yet? The East Hampton Library's annual book-signing reception is slated for Saturday at the Gardiner Farm on James Lane in the village. Dine with the authors afterwards. This fundraiser is always a good time — there's an author everyone wants to meet. This year they range from Gwyneth Paltrow to Robert A. Caro and even Katie Beers, who grew up in East Hampton.
-- Lastly, we've mentioned Bo once before, but he's worth mentioning again. Patch reader Rich Morey and his family have been fostering this two-year-old hound since rescuing him from a kill shelter in Virginia and now he is looking for his forever home. "He will pay you back with unending loyalty and unconditional love when he lies down with you at the end of the day and looks up at you with his adoring eyes," Morey writes. His contact information is available on our boards if you are interested. Share the link, because you never know, you may know his perfect match.
