Dick Cavett Takes the Stage; Springs Invitational Art Show Opens

Here are five events from our calendar to give you a taste of what's ahead this week.
1. DICK CAVETT STARS IN READING TO BENEFIT ALZHEIMER'S
Dick Cavett will star in a reading of Joni Fritz’s "In the Car with Blossom and Len" along with Jane Gabbert, Emily Jon Mitchell, Patricia Randell, Babs Winn, and Joshua Perl at Guild Hall in East Hampton on Monday at 7 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the Alzheimer’s Association. Tickets are $25.
2. SAIL MONTAUK'S TUESDAY NIGHT REGATTAS
Sail Montauk’s fleet of four Catalina 22s will have three short races each week, starting Tuesday evening at 6 p.m., with three crew positions available on each boat. No experience necessary; each boat will have a licensed skipper aboard provided by Sail Montauk. Watch the races from the Montauk Yacht Club at Hurricane Alley.
3. KHAI KHAI JEWELRY LAUNCH AT LONDON JEWELRY
Celebrate the launch of Khai Khai Jewelry at London Jewelers in East Hampton during a trunk show Aug. 2 to 4, noon to 5 p.m. Prices range from $600 to $3,000.

The 46th annual Springs Invitational Art Exhibition is set for Friday through Aug. 18 at Ashawagh Hall in Springs. Jennifer Cross curated the show of over 150 artists from the East End. An opening wine reception on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m.
The 22nd annual Clamshell Foundation's Sandcastle Contest takes place at Atlantic Avenue Beach in Amagansett on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. There are 5 different categories based on age with trophies for all winners. This year, there will be special gifts for those that enter.
