Larry Cantwell Officially Retires from the Village Wednesday

Your guide to what's happening in the community today.

Good morning, East Hampton.

- Wednesday is Larry Cantwell's last day as the longtime Village Administrator. He officially retires after the village's last meeting of its fiscal year on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Emergency Services Building. It certainly isn't he last we'll hear from Cantwell — you may have heard he's running for town supervisor in November's election. Enjoy your short retirement, Larry.

- This week, it's your last chance to catch "EVE," The Neo-Political Cowgirls' show, in 2013. Performances are held at LTV Studios in Wainscott until Sunday. Wednesday and Thursday's performances are fundraisers for Bay Street Theatre at 7 p.m. Directed by Kate Mueth, the audience moves freely through 13 rooms as Eve's story unfolds through music, movement and art. Tickets are $35 online or $40 at door.

- The weather on Wednesday is going to be beautiful. Weather.com reports that it will be mostly sunny with temperatures rising towards the upper 70s.

- In the news, Waldbaum's refrigeration system tanked last week, causing customers to have to shop elsewhere for staples like eggs and meat. Were you one of them? Tell us about your experience at the bottom of the story article. Readers have already started a conversation.

- As for us, we'll be heading to the village board meeting Wednesday morning, as well as being out and about in Amagansett and East Hampton Village. Have a story idea? Email Taylor.Vecsey@patch.com.

Have a great day.
