Live Music at the Carnival; Fall Sports Guide Is Here

Happy "Hump Day," East Hampton. Am I the only one who feels like the week is flying by?

-- The weather the past few days has been beautiful. Unfortunately, rain is coming. Sunshine and clouds will mix with highs near 75 during the day will give way to thunderstorms on Thursday. So enjoy the weather today!

-- It may be summer, but school is closer than you think. Some student-athletes are already thinking about fall sports. We've put together a guide to the fall sports' schedules. Check it out so you can put those big games on your calendar. Go Bonac!

-- Carl Irace, who is running for East Hampton Town Justice, blogged this week about an issue courts struggle with — handing down law in an even-handed fashion. Have you seen instances of this in East Hampton court?

-- Wednesday is all about the kids. Guild Hall hosts KidFest, starting at 4 p.m. with an arts and crafts workshop for children 5 and up. Parents pay $10, or $8 if they're members. Students will draw inspiration from music to create abstract art using many different mediums. Then, a comedy-percussion performance by BAM takes place at 5 p.m. Adults are $16, $14 for members; Kids are $13, $11 for members.

-- Robert Woolcot's debut novel, "The Mermaid Coast," a thriller set in the Hamptons, is being released, and the Lounge at c/o The Maidstone is hosting a party and book signing on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.

-- The East Hampton Republican Committee is holding a Meet & Greet at Michaels' at Maidstone on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. Tickets cost $50.

-- End the day at the Sag Harbor Fireman's Carnival. Tonight, in addition to the carnival attractions, there's also live music. Clearwater Stills, a band made up of Sag Harbor residents Mark Balserus, Brendan Sheil, and James Frazier, will take the stage from 8 to 10 p.m.
