• Edward F. McGuire Jr., Formerly of East Hampton, Dies December 5 (27east.com) — Longtime East Hampton resident Edward “Frank” McGuire Jr., a former Bonackers athlete, volunteer firefighter, and Little League coach who helped light the Abraham’s Path ballfield, has died at 92. Raised on Cove Hollow Road and later retired to Florida, he leaves a large extended family, and a celebration of his life is planned in East Hampton this spring.
   

• Montauk Holiday Fair Grows (easthamptonstar.com) — A growing holiday fair is taking over Montauk’s downtown green this Saturday and Sunday, with Santa, live reindeer, a new holiday train, and plenty of food and vendors for families.
