EAST HAMPTON β It was costumes and fun galore as the first annual Comic Extravaganza took place in East Hampton on Sunday and the crowds came out in search of their favorite comics and artwork.
Nancy Silberkleit, the co-CEO of Archie Comic Books, organized the event, and was thrilled with the outcome. βThe turnout was fantastic,β she said about all of the comic book fans.

But what touched Silberkleit the most were the stories she heard from comic fans. One man came up to her and shared his story: βI learned everything about business from Archie comics,β an owner of multiple restaurants told her.
Specifically, it was a graphic picture in an Archie digest showing Pop Tate, the owner of the hangout diner in Riverdale that inspired him. βPop Tate was giving out food samples that drew customers in. That man claims that visual inspired him to do the same when opening restaurants and hangs his success on that very Archie story.β
If you missed the event this year, another is already being planned for the summer of 2017.
