Cops: Teen Trespasses, Tells Homeowner He 'Needs a Place to Chill'
Plus, police say the man they found throwing glasses at the Gig Shack also resisted arrested.

The following information was supplied by the East Hampton Town Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate guilt.
• An 18-year-old from East Hampton was arrested on two misdemeanor charges after he barged into a Springs house and told the owner that he "needed a place to chill" in the early morning hours of July 27, police said in a report. The owner escorted the teenager outside and saw a truck in the driveway with a second person passed out in the passenger seat. The owner went back inside and locked all the doors, but the teenager tried to get in, breaking an screen door. The owner dialed 911. The teen was charged with second-degree criminal trespass and fourth-degree criminal mischief at 6 a.m.
When police arrived they found the fight was spilling over to the street. A 21-year-old and a 20-year-old, both of whom live in Montauk, repeatedly punched and kicked the victim in the face, head and body, and ignored police to stop. Officers used pepper spray to break up the fight. The group ran on foot, but police eventually found the two defendants.
The victim had substantial pain when breathing, pain and swelling in the back of the head, forehead and ribcage. He was transported to Southampton Hospital. Police said the altercation began when something was thrown at the victim's car and he got out to confront the two defendants who in turn used racial slurs.
The 21-year-old was charged with misdemeanor third-degree assault and disorderly conduct, a violation. He was released on $200 bail and given an appearance ticket.
The 20-year-old was charged with disorderly conduct and second-degree harassment, both violations, and also given an appearance ticket.
• A 25-year-old Montauk man was arrested after a disturbance at the 668 Gig Shack on Montauk Highway in Montauk on July 26 at about 2:30 a.m. Police said they arrived to find tables and chairs on their sides and saw the man throwing glasses against he wall. After confronting the man, he tried to leave the restaurant. Police tried to grab his wrist, but he pulled away and police ordered him to the ground. Even though he began to get down, when he was on only one knee, he flailed his arms. Police "used the force necessary to place the defendant into custody," they said in a report. He continued to struggle with police as they placed him in the car, they said. He was charged with resisting arrest, a misdemeanor, and second-degree harassment, a violation. The manager did not wish to pursue charges for the damage, police said. Later that morning, he was released on his own recognizance.
