Tuesday Means Evening Regattas

Your guide to what's happening in the community.

Happy Tuesday, East Hampton.

- If you have a tween who needs something to do this afternoon, drop them off for a movie at the Amagansett Library at 6 p.m. "Hotel Translvania" will be shown and snacks will be provided.

- Want to go sailing? Sail Montauk is holding its first Tuesday Night Regattas in Montauk. There's no experience necessary, as there will be a professional on the four boats being provided. Even if you're a non-sailor, you can watch the races from the Montauk Yacht Club.

- Several local students are on the trip of a lifetime — Rio de Janeiro for World Youth Day with Pope Francis.  The Rev. Msgr. Donald Hanson said the Most Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church in East Hampton sent the teenaged parishioners — all girls — and five chaperones last week and they are returning Thursday. The parish will welcome them back during Mass on Sunday, and Hanson is arranging for them to tell the parish about their travels at a later date.

- Can you believe August is days away? The summer isn't over yet, and neither are camps. A lacrosse camp for boys and girls will be held from Aug. 5 to 7 at the Stephan Hands Path field from 9 a.m. to noon. The price is $150. Email Chris.Bocklet10@gmail.com with questions.

Have a great day and check back with East Hampton Patch later.
