2 N.J. Men Nabbed in Bethpage on Heroin Charges

Nassau cops make sting stemming from Craigs List ad.

Nassau County detectives arrested two New Jersey men Monday in a heroin sting operation that began with a Craigs List ad.

Detectives said Daniel Bigelow, 23, of 301 West Jersey St., and Gustavo Arce-Giron, 26, of 160 West Field Ave., both of Elizabeth, N.J, placed a notice on Craigs List advertising "pain relief" for sale.

Undercover detectives contacted the telephone number posted and arranged a meeting to purchase 40 bags of heroin for an agreed upon amount of cash.  Detectives met with the defendants at a location on South Oyster Bay Road in Bethpage where they were found to be in possession of said amount of heroin. police said. The men were then placed under arrest.

Bigelow and Arce-Giron are being charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal sale of a controlled substance, according to police. They are being held pending their arraignment Tuesday in First District Court, Hempstead.

The arrests come just over a week since police charged three men after two of them broke into a Farmingdale home and attacked the occupant.

When the victim called for help, Nassau police swarmed in and found the men inside and a wide assortment of drugs and guns. Among the drugs seized were hundreds of bags filled with heroin. See that full story here.
