A Taste Of The Tropics Coming to Farmingdale State

Expert to lead tour of ornamental garden and tell stories of his travels through the Amazon.

Farmingdale State College is offer the public a trip to the tropics right here at the college.

Dr. Richard Iversen, Professor of Ornamental Horticulture, will lead an inspired tour of the tropical plantings in the college’s famous Teaching Gardens, of which he is the curator. After the tour, Dr. Eric Morgan, Professor of Biology, will serve up tropical fruits and delicacies while entertaining with tales of his travels through the tropics, including the Amazon rain forest.

The public are invited a tasty and entertaining evening at the Farmingdale State College’s Teaching Gardens, on Wednesday, Aug. 21 from 5 to 8 p.m. 

This is the second year Farmingdale’s Ornamental Horticulture Department is offering the Taste of the Tropics.

Admission is $35 per person, $25 for students and alumni. The Teaching Gardens are just off the Parking Lot entrance to Farmingdale State College.  RSVPs are requested by Monday, Aug. 14 to Michael Veracka at 631-420-2113 or michael.veracka@farmingdale.edu.
