Police ID Bicyclist Killed In Farmingdale Crash
A man was riding an electric bike when he collided with a Jeep, police say.
SOUTH FARMINGDALE, NY — A man riding an electric bicycle was killed on Friday afternoon in South Farmingdale, Nassau police said. Nassau police identified him as Adam Markevitch, 44, of North Massapequa, in an update on Wednesday.
Markevitch was riding the electric bike east on Reese Place at the intersection of Merritts Road when he was involved in a collision with a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by a 55-year-old woman at 3:45 p.m., police said.
Markevitch was pronounced dead at the scene after suffering severe trauma injuries, police said. The Jeep driver remained at the scene.
