A blimp that flew over the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade made an emergency landing Thursday morning in a field in Farmingdale.
An apparent witness to the scene, who provided photos to Patch, said the blimp landed at Woodward Parkway Elementary School around 9:45 a.m.
The blimp was apparently headed toward Republic Airport, but the pilot decided to bring it down in the field after winds changed direction and began to blow the blimp off course, according to ABC7.
None of the three people on the blimp were injured.
