Farmingdale’s Saltzman East Memorial Elementary School recently celebrated New York State’s Parents as Reading Partners (PARP) program with a night of Book Bingo
PARP is a statewide initiative designed to improve student literacy by encouraging parents to read with children at least 15 minutes per day. Organized by teachers Mrs. Linsalata and Mrs. Swenson, students and parents played the beloved game of Bingo with images of popular books in place of the traditional numbers on the game boards.
Winning participants were awarded with books and bookmarks as prizes.
