The Barclays has donated more than $38 million to charities since its inception in 1967. All tournament proceeds after expenses are donated back to local charities, and the volunteer fee helps offset expenses so that The Barclays can donate as much as possible charities in 2012, tournament officials said.

“From the outset of the FedEx Cup, The Barclays has set the stage for the PGA Tour Playoffs with exciting and compelling competition in and around the New York City area,” said PGA Tour Commissioner Tim Finchem.
