Empty in Farmingdale: Former Conklin Raceway

Walk down Main Street or drive down Route 110 and Hempstead Turnpike and you will notice many boarded up storefronts adorned with "For Rent" signs, an indication of the hard times the area -- and country -- are facing.
The Village of Farmingdale mayor and board of trustees they hope will and fill the empty sites with businesses and housing.

This week's property is the former LI Raceway and Hobby property located at 909 Conklin St. just west of Rt 110, roughly half way between the Long Island Expressway and the Southern State Parkway.
After the radio control car racing venue (one of the few on Long Island) closed this summer more than 11,000 square feet became available for lease at a rate of $7 per square foot per year.

Attached to the raceway is the 10,333 square foot former Granite World also available. It is categorized as a retail/light industrial flex space with one drive in door, three loading docks with dock levelers, an office and gas heat with cooling system available. The leasing agency is Cohen Associates.
