Empty in Farmingdale: Former Crazy Donkey

Walk down Main Street or drive down Route 110 and Hempstead Turnpike and you will notice many boarded up storefronts adorned with "For Rent" signs, an indication of the hard times the area -- and country -- are facing.

The Village of Farmingdale mayor and board of trustees  they hope will  and fill the empty sites with businesses and housing.

This week's property is the old Crazy Donkey concert venue on Route 110.

Since , rumors immediately surfaced that a new sports bar/restaurant would go there.

The "For Lease" sign that went up has recently been taken down and there is construction going on at the site.

JPD United Inc., the realty agency that owns the property, said the site is no longer available for lease but did not reveal who the new occupant would be.
