Playoff Football: Floyd vs. Farmingdale

Farmingdale is playing for the Long Island Class I football championship for the first time since 2007. 

And the opponent is familiar one. The Dalers face Suffolk champ Floyd for the third time.

Farmingdale beat Floyd, 12-3, in 2001. The Colonials handed Farmingdale a 42-0 loss in 2007.

They meet again Friday at 3 p.m. at Hofstra University's Shuart Stadium.

Farmingdale (10-1) brings a stingy defense and relentless running game coming off a 21-9 win over Baldwin.

Floyd (9-2) has won nine of the last 12 Suffolk Divison I titles. This is the Colonials' fourth straight trip to the LIC, advancing thanks to a 61-27 win over Sachem East.
