Most Americans don’t see a difference between Italian food and Italian-American food, but native Italians sure do- and that is exactly what Fred Assini saw back in 2012, when he bought the legendary pizzeria Cascarino’s.
Fred Assini, a serial entrepreneur based out of Long Island, NY, had a staff of over 350 people who frequently ordered from Cascarino’s (now Main Street Italian Eatery). “Cascarino’s was an incredible restaurant from Queens, and was known as serving some of the best pizza in NY. The recipes originated from an old-school grandma and we were also home of Citi Field Pizza.” said Assini.

The town of Farmingdale has definitely transformed into an incredible place filled with loyal local residents, out of town visitors and incredible food and shopping. The town officials of Farmingdale have put so much time, money and effort into transforming this beautiful neighborhood, which is why Assini and his team decided to change the name to Main Street Pizza Company. His vision was to become the staple of Main Street while preserving their old-school recipes and well-known charm as your #1 local pizzeria and comfort food in the area.
The following year, Covid hit and threw everyone a curve ball. Main Street Pizza Company needed to transform the way they did business, and that is exactly what they did! Known during the pandemic as “The Kings of Quarantine”, the pizzeria debuted the “Bored Game” pizza box, its take on the classic Monopoly board game in versions geared toward kids as well as adults (the 21-and-over edition doubled as a drinking game). During the pandemic, the staff at Main Street Pizza Company even went to visit David Portnoy, founder of Barstool Sports, and bring him the "Bored Game" pizza box and of course their delicious pizza which was featured on his very popular social media page @stoolpresidente.

In addition, there was create your own pizza kits created by the Main Street Pizza Company staff and they were a huge success for all the families who were home quarantining.
Delivery orders boomed for Main Street Pizza Company during the pandemic and as usual they thought outside of the box (no pun intended). They teamed up with a local luxury car dealership and delivered orders in exotic cars, something their loyal customers were so excited to see.
Once a month, they also hosted a virtual bingo night. For every $20 spent at the pizzeria during the same week that bingo is being hosted, customers got a playing card, which included a Zoom ID and password. Winners were all awarded gifts from the local stores in the community which was something Main Street Pizza Company always tried to do- support its community.
“We cannot thank the Chamber of Commerce, First Responders, Farmingdale residents, Industrial workers and beyond enough for their incredible support throughout the pandemic. Without their support, our restaurant would not be standing in our beloved community of Farmingdale.” said Assini.
When restrictions loosened up, and people were allowed to start dining out, Main Street Pizza Company teamed up with a local entertainment company, which would come to the restaurant, decorate and provide entertainment to all of the diners. The menu was expanded into original and seasonal Italian classics with curated and customized cocktails. This was such a big hit that they now have evolved into a holiday pop up entertainment restaurant, where over the last 2.5 years, Main Street Pizza Company has served their incredible dishes and drinks to over 25,000 people at these events. Halloween Pop-up with a Hocus Pocus theme, Christmas Club Wonderland Pop-Up, Easter and Valentine’s Day have been such a success that they now will continue events with different themes throughout 2023 and beyond, bringing even more themes, dishes and dates to choose from. Their main priority is to bring our customers and the residents of this amazing town of Farmingdale together.

The success of the event has also inspired Main Street Pizza Company to rebrand their image and expand into more than just being known as a pizzeria. In November 2022, they announced their new name as Main Street Italian Eatery. Get ready to indulge in your Italian favorites from their scratch kitchen.
