
The founder and CEO of the Farmingdale-based Lorraine Gregory Communications Group will be honored as one of Long Island's top executives next month by the Long Island Business News.
Founder and CEO Greg Demetriou will be honored on May 9 along with some of the Long Island's most respected business leaders at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury.
Demetriou began his career as a detective with the NYPD. In the course of an organized crime investigation Greg was involved in a shooting in Grand Central Station and was awarded the NYPD Medal of Honor. He retired from the NYPD in 1981.
After this major life transition, he and his wife created the Lorraine Gregory Corp. and purchased Bi-County Mailing, a small mailing company in Bethpage, in 1992.
Since then, Demetriou has led the growth and expansion of the company to include its affiliates under the Lorraine Gregory banner – American Mail Communications, and Direct Printing Connection and Precision Envelope & Printing Company. The company provides marketing and direct mail services to a wide range of businesses and organizations throughout the region.
The company has a client list of over 1,200 and a staff of 34 at their Farmingdale facility.
