Farmingdale Fire Dept. Carnival; Halloween Parade; Holiday Parade, More: Fall Events

The carnival is expected to last four days. Rides, food, games and more fun are planned. Check out other fall events in Farmingdale, too.

FARMINGDALE, NY — The Farmingdale Fire Department Carnival is set to roll into town from Friday through Monday.

The carnival will feature rides, games, food, fun and more.

Live music is lined up for the fair behind the fire department, at 361 Main Street. Fairgoers were encouraged to visit the beer garden to watch the Major League Baseball playoffs, football and listen to music.

  • Friday, Oct. 11 from 7 to 10:30 p.m.: Rock Country Nights
  • Saturday, Oct. 12 from 7 to 10:30 p.m.: The Electric Dudes
  • Sunday, Oct. 13 from 7 to 10:30 P.M.: A Witches Brew

  • Farmers Market On the Village Green by Schneider's Farm, held weekly on Sundays
    through Nov. 24, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., weather permitting, at 361 Main Street.
  • Hardscrabble Theater at St. Thomas Episcopal Church presents "Sly Fox" for select
    October and November dates. For tickets and details, go here.
  • Open Mic and Jam Sessions hosted by Chuck and Vinny. For all ages: Oct. 24; Nov. 19 and Dec. 5, starting at 7 p.m. at Village Hall. Music, poetry, comedy, stand-up, spoken word, dramatic reading, magic, and other performances. To register in advance, email openmicfarmingdale@gmail.com or sign-up on the night of the event, first come, first served. Free to attend, at 361 Main Street. Sponsored by the Farmingdale Village Cultural Arts Committee.
  • Presentation by Babylon Town Historian Mary Cascone: The Bethpage Purchase,
    Thomas Powell & The Historic Powell House — 2 p.m. Oct. 20 at Farmingdale Village Hall, at 361 Main Street. Cascone will present about the Bethpage Purchase, Thomas Powell, his family and descendants, and the Historic Powell House, located at 33 Merritts Road, Farmingdale. Free to attend, limited seating inside Village Hall, first come, first seated. Sponsored by the Farmingdale-Bethpage Historical Society and the Farmingdale Village Cultural Arts Committee.
  • Annual Farmingdale Halloween Parade and free family fun On the Village Green – Get
    your costumes ready, 1 to 4 p.m. Oct. 26. Farmingdale's Halloween Parade is scheduled for 1 p.m. The family fun event is free to attend. All ages are invited to march in the parade, followed by Pony Rides, Petting Zoo, Costume Contest. Farmingdale Chamber members will have candy for the kids on the Village Green. Coldwell Banker is sponsoring a Trunk or Treat behind the fire house. The parade is set to step off from a new location: the alley way across from Moby Drugs next to Candy’s Jewelers. It will proceed south along Main St. to the Village Green, at 361 Main Street. Marchers and groups should assemble by 12:45 p.m. to take photos. Event sponsored by Farmingdale Village, Farmingdale BID & Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce. Rain date is Oct. 27.
  • Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce Small Business Season Holiday Parade, scheduled for noon Nov. 23. The parade signifies the start of Farmingdale's Small Business Season. The parade will kick off at Northside School and features a Farmingdale Public School Marching Band, the Dalerettes Kickline and Hardscrabble Girl Scouts in holiday costume, rain or shine. See the parade along Main Street and visit Santa at the Village Green after the parade, at 361 Main Street.
  • 11th Annual Long Island Gingerbread House Contest – Calling all Bakers, start planning your entries. The Chocolate Duck in Farmingdale is hosting its 11th Annual Long Island Gingerbread and Chocolate House Competition, noon to 4 p.m. Dec. 7, at 310 Main Street. The event is free for spectators who can vote for the People's Choice award. Prizes will be awarded. The 2024 theme is Favorite Long Island authors. People were asked to help feed Long Island's hungry through Long Island Cares by bringing non-perishable food donations and gift cards.

"The Board of Trustees and myself look forward to seeing everyone downtown and throughout the
village," Farmingdale Mayor Ralph Ekstrand said in a news release. "We welcome all new residents and businesses to the Village and thank all event planners and sponsors. Just a reminder to shop and dine local, and stay tuned for more events."
