Farmingdale Football's LI Championship Celebrated With Parade: Photos

FARMINGDALE, NY — A parade was held Sunday morning in Farmingdale to honor the high school football team's Long Island Championship victory over Ward Melville on Nov. 26.

Photos from the parade, which rolled down Main Street, can be viewed in the slideshow above.

The Dalers defeated Ward Melville 42-20 to win their first Long Island title since 2001. The team's 12-0 season ended with the school's second Long Island football championship.

Coach Buddy Krumenacker told News 12 that hard work was the reason behind the championship.

“I’m extremely proud," Krumenacker told News 12. "Great group of kids and tremendous work ethic. They've gotten everything they deserve."

Farmingdale was the runner-up six times since 2001 before claiming another championship.

The Dalers defeated Massapequa 38-7 in the Nassau Championship on Nov. 19 to set up their Long Island Championship clash with Ward Melville.
