Farmingdale Mentors Help Kids Stop Bullying

Middle School students address 2nd and 3rd graders.

Farmingdale School District’s Howitt Middle School students recently visited the Saltzman East Memorial Elementary School to mentor second and third grade students on how to create a bully-free environment.

The mentors authored and illustrated their own picture books about the vices of bullying and shared them with their younger peers.

All of the students then recited an original anti-bullying pledge and were presented with certificates to show their participation in the program. The interactive program concluded with a question and answer session where the elementary students were able to ask their mentors questions about their experiences with bullying.
