Last week's Otten Brothers Bicycle Shop would have been located in the Village of Farmingdale today.
Today, it is the real estate agency on Conklin Street right off Main Street. Congratulations to reader for correctly guessing the answer.
The photo originally posted was taken in 1907 of Otten Brothers Bicycle shop in Farmingdale. The brothers opened a bicycle shop early in the twentieth century and when motorcycles and automobiles became more common the brothers began servicing them also, making them Farmingdale's first auto repair facility, according to the Farmingdale-Bethpage Historical Society. By 1911 three Farmingdale businesses were advertising auto repairs.
