Farmingdale Village Summer Events: Info

FARMINGDALE, NY — Two more Music On Main dates remain for summer 2024 in Farmingdale Village.

The dates are slated for Aug. 22 and Aug. 29, as the Aug. 8 date was postponed because of Tropical Storm Debby. Music on Main sees Main Street shut down to traffic between 5 and 9 p.m. as businesses have an outdoor presence, selling food, drinks and hosting live music.

The weekly farmer's market on the Village Green by Schneider's Farm is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sundays through Nov. 24, weather permitting.

"Lyle, Lyle Crocodile" is scheduled for the Aug. 20 Movies on the Green showcase at dusk. People can bring family and friends; food or snacks; and chairs and blankets for seating. Movie nights are weather permitting with free admission, free ice cream and popcorn. People were encouraged to dine and shop downtown.

"Thank you to Farmingdale Public Library for the movies and thank you to the ice cream sponsors," Farmingdale Mayor Ralph Ekstrand said.

The Farmingdale Kiwanis / Nassau County Fairs is set to present its Craft & Gift Fair on Aug. 24 and Aug. 25 on the Village Green. There will be vendors and fun foods.

The Runners Edge Main Street Mile is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Aug. 31.

The Farmingdale FD Hook, Ladder, & Hose Co #1 is hosting a Casino night fundraiser on Aug. 31. A start time was not listed on the flyer.

Colored Colors is set to present its Second Sundays Art Crawl in downtown Farmingdale, along Main Street. The next date is noon to 4 p.m. Sept. 8, weather permitting. It is free to attend and sponsored by The Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce, Farmingdale Business Improvement District and others.

Farmingdale's 13th Annual Art in the Park is slated for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 15 on the Village Green.
