Farmingdale Village Summer Events: What You Should Know
Music on Main, farmers markets, movies, and concerts, are just a few events happening in Farmingdale this summer.

FARMINGDALE, NY — Farmingdale Village is gearing up for exciting summer events.
There are many outdoor community events planned — from movie nights, to live music, art crawls and more — there is something for everyone to enjoy and they are free to attend.
- Farmers Market On the Village Green, by Schneider's Farm from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sundays, through Nov. 24.
- Farmingdale Craft & Gift Fair by Farmingdale Kiwanis Club / Nassau County Fairs, on the Village Green, June 22 and 23; and Aug. 24 and 25, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Farmingdale Village Pops On the Village Green, 42nd season! Concerts directed by Brad DeMilo. Wednesdays at 7:30 pm: June 26, July 3, July 10, July 17, July 24 and July 31.
- Movies On The Green: Tuesdays at Dusk: July 9 "Migration," July 16 "Elemental," July 23 "Kung Fu Panda 4," July 30 "Over the Hedge," Aug. 6 "Minions: Rise of Gru," Aug. 13 "Wish," and Aug. 20 "Lyle, Lyle Crocodile."
- Farmingdale Music On Main - along Main Street downtown: 5 to 9 p.m. Thursdays: July 11, July 25 Aug. 8, and Aug. 22. Rain date: Aug. 29. Presented by the Farmingdale Business Improvement District and Farmingdale Village.
- Art Crawl: second Sundays by Colored Colors, along Main Street in Downtown Farmingdale from noon to 4 p.m. on July 14, Aug. 11 and Sept. 8. (Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce, Farmingdale BID and more sponsors).
- Open Mic and Jam Session by Chuck and Vinny, on the Village Green, at 7 p.m. July 18. Presented by the Farmingdale Cultural Arts Committee.
- Runner's Edge Main Street Mile: Aug. 31, with races along Main Street starting at 8:30 a.m. (fee to enter races), benefiting Companions in Courage Foundation.
- 13th Annual Art in the Park Exhibit, Show & Sale – on the Village Green, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 15. Rain date: Sept. 22.
"Summer in Farmingdale Village is a great time to enjoy many free outdoor events downtown, visit the weekly farmers market, enjoy free Village Pops Concerts, Movies On the Green, and outdoor music and fun along Main Street at Farmingdale’s Music On Main, Second Sundays, Art in the Park and more," Farmingdale Mayor Ralph Ekstrand said in a news release. "We look forward to providing great, fun entertainment, downtown. Stroll Main Street and see what’s new, enjoy music, art, dining and more - celebrate summer!"

Ekstrand urged people to shop and dine while downtown at Farmingdale's Culinary Quarter and to enjoy the "vast array" of shops and eateries. People can dine al fresco with open air dining, or inside.
"Discover the many great shops, clubs, eateries, two speakeasies, two breweries, downtown destination stores and shops," Ekstrand said. "The Farmingdale merchants work together to provide great entertainment for the public to enjoy. Thank you to all sponsors, groups, committees, merchants, Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce, Fire Department, event planners, promoters and the media."
