Farmingdale's John's Crazy Socks Becomes Professional Bowlers Association Sponsor

FARMINGDALE, NY — John's Crazy Socks has joined the Professional Bowlers Association as its official athletic sock partner for the 2025 season, the Farmingdale business announced.

The partnership between the sock store, a champion for inclusion, and the Professional Bowlers Association is set to debut at the PBA Delaware Classic, scheduled for Jan. 20 through 25 at Mid County Lanes & Entertainment in Middletown, Delaware.

"We wanted to make the best bowling socks ever," said John Cronin, co-founder of John’s Crazy Socks, in a news release.

The official PBA sock is a high-performance athletic sock designed with input from PBA bowlers. Each sock features the PBA logo, embodying the "energy, tradition, and passion of bowling," said Mark X. Cronin, co-founder of the business and John's father.

The sock, along with a curated collection of bowling-themed socks, will be available at PBA events, on the John’s Crazy Socks website, and at select pro shops nationwide.

"Bowling is for everyone, and so are our socks," John said. "We’re excited to help bowlers showcase their personalities and love for the game through our socks."

PBA Commissioner Tom Clark said John's Crazy Socks's origin story and mission are "inspiring."

"Plus, the product is fun and practical for all bowlers," Clark said. "We are proud to partner with this organization and look forward to what we can accomplish together."

John and Mark X. Cronin are set to appear at the season-opening event. Joining them are Kyle Troup and Packy Hanrahan, two of the PBA’s brightest stars, who have become ambassadors for the brand. Fans can purchase custom socks online designed for Troup and Hanrahan, celebrating their styles and achievements.

Troup, a 12-time PBA Tour Champion and 2021 Player of the Year, brings his bold personality and distinctive style to the collaboration.

Hanrahan, known for his skill and passion for growing the sport, adds a fresh and youthful energy to the team. Both athletes will showcase their custom socks on and off the lanes, inspiring fans to join in the fun.

John Cronin, who has Down syndrome, learned to bowl as a Special Olympic athlete. John’s Crazy Socks has long held an annual bowling outing for its employees.
