Step By Step Dance Studio, at 248 Main St., Farmingdale, has a community service dance troupe called the Step By Step Dance Company, O'Neill said. Instead of competitions, the studio's dancers participate in community service events.

"This group of dancers have done everything from food drives to dancing for homeless shelters, to making cards for our military," O'Neill told Patch. "One of their favorite events is their annual student showcase. The dancers work really hard to create their own dances, cutting their own music and selecting costumes for it, too."
This showcase is what will be presented to the community on May 11 — and for a good cause.
