Four Injured in Hicksville House Blaze
One seriously injured in Tuesday's 6 a.m. fire, police say.
Four people were injured, one seriously,in a house fire Tuesday morning in Hicksville, authorities said.
Nassau Police say the fire broke out at about 6 a.m. on Chestnut Street.
According to detectives, a Nassau police officer responded to the report of the fire and saw smoke coming from the home’s northwest bedroom. The four people inside the home at the time of the fire managed to exit on their own.

The Hicksville Fire Department was on the scene with about 10 apparatus and 100 firefighters to put out the fire. All four residents were transported to an area hospital by Hicksville Fire Department ambulance, police say.
A male, 50, was treated for minor injuries and released, while two females are being treated for smoke inhalation. A third female is being treated for burns and smoke inhalation, police say.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
