Free Film at Library; School Schedule Online
Here are the big events in and around Farmingdale today: Tuesday Aug. 27, 2013.

1. The Farmingdale Public Library offers its free matinee Tuesday. "Slightly Dangerous," (1943) starring Lana Turner and Robert Young. The film starts at 2 p.m.
2. Late Monday we wrote about a Wyandanch man who survived after he was struck by a freight train by the Hicksville station. Read it here.
3. Farmingdale Schools won't open until Monday open until Monday Sept. 9 because Labor Day week also coincides with Rosh Hashanah on Thursday and Friday. You can see the school-year schedule here.
