FARMINGDALE, NY — Farmingdale Village has several family fun events coming up during the holiday season, from a parade to New Year's Eve events.

  • Farmers Market On the Village Green by Schneider's Farm, held weekly on Sundays through Nov. 24, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., weather permitting, at 361 Main Street.
  • Open Mic and Jam Sessions hosted by Chuck and Vinny. For all ages: Nov. 19 and Dec. 5 (holiday theme), starting at 7 p.m. at Village Hall. Music, poetry, comedy, stand-up, spoken word, dramatic reading, magic, and other performances. To register in advance, email openmicfarmingdale@gmail.com or sign-up on the night of the event, first come, first served. Free to attend, at 361 Main Street. Sponsored by the Farmingdale Village Cultural Arts Committee.
  • Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce Small Business Season Holiday Parade, scheduled for noon Nov. 23. The parade signifies the start of Farmingdale's Small Business Season. The parade will kick off at Northside School and features a Farmingdale Public School Marching Band, the Dalerettes Kickline and Hardscrabble Girl Scouts in holiday costume, rain or shine. See the parade along Main Street and visit Santa at the Village Green after the parade, at 361 Main Street.
  • Farmingdale Village Tree Lightings – 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3 at 361 Main Street - at
    the Gazebo on the Village Green. Enjoy music by the South Shore Brass Ensemble, and the Farmingdale School Chorus will sing holiday carols.
  • Gerngras Tree Lighting – 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6 — Staples and Hudson streets.
  • 11th Annual Long Island Gingerbread House Contest – Calling all Bakers, start planning your entries. The Chocolate Duck in Farmingdale is hosting its 11th Annual Long Island Gingerbread and Chocolate House Competition, noon to 4 p.m. Dec. 7, at 310 Main Street. The event is free for spectators who can vote for the People's Choice award. Prizes will be awarded. The 2024 theme is Favorite Long Island authors. People were asked to help feed Long Island's hungry through Long Island Cares by bringing non-perishable food donations and gift cards.
  • Art Crawl, presented by Colored Colors, along downtown Main Street from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8. Sponsored by the Farmingdale Business Improvement District, Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce, and more (weather permitting).
  • Farmingdale Family Friendly New Year's Eve Ball Drop, scheduled for 7:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, On The Village Green, 361 Main Street, free noisemakers, hot chocolate, fire pit, music & more! Sponsored by the Farmingdale Business Improvement District, Farmingdale Village & more, (weather permitting).
