Infant, 1, Fatally Drowns In Long Island Pool: Police
The boy had been removed from the pool with CPR being administered by the time police arrived.
SOUTH FARMINGDALE, NY — A 1-year-old boy fatally drowned in South Farmingdale on Friday night, Nassau police said.
Officers were called to a Sixth Avenue home for an infant who was not breathing after an apparent drowning accident in a swimming pool around 7 p.m., detectives said. When officers arrived, the boy was already removed from the pool and CPR was being administered, police said.
Officers, a Nassau County ambulance supervisor and Farmingdale Fire Department personnel continued medical treatment on scene, police said.

The boy was rushed to a nearby hospital and was pronounced dead at 7:47 pm by a hospital staff
member, police said.
The investigation is ongoing.
