Life-Saving Animal Transport Flight Touches Down In Farmingdale
57 animals were saved on the flight — as North Shore Animal League America welcomes 19 to its Port Washington shelter.

FARMINGDALE, NY – An animal rescue transport flight touched down on Thursday at Republic Airport, saving 57 animals in total. North Shore Animal League America welcomed 19 of them to its Port Washington shelter, with the others going to various organizations.
The puppies and kittens were flown from Louisiana to Long Island by nonprofit Race To The Rescue, according to a release. The plane made a stop in upstate New York to deliver some of the animals to Binghamton before touching down in Farmingdale.
NSALA members were on the tarmac, awaiting the animals’ arrival.

The animals will be examined by NSALA's medical teams, cleaned by groomers, and will eventually be ready for adoption.
The transport was a collaboration between Animal League America, the Bissell Pet Foundation, and Race for Life Rescue.

Other local animal rescue organizations took part in this rescue flight and were on site at the airport to offload the animals and transfer them.
