L'shanah Tovah! Rosh Hashanah is Here
Schools, some businesses closed; Farmingdale Chamber to meet.
Here are the big events taking place in and around Farmingdale Thursday:
1. Today is the first full-day of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. Some business are closed along with Farmingdale schools. Many will gather with family and friends at services and around traditional dinner tables.
2. The Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce holds its monthly meeting at a luncheon at CaraCara Mexican Grill at 354 Main Street Thursday. Details here.
3. Early today we reported new details about the shooting death of a Hicksville woman in her boyfriend's Tarrytown town home.
4. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is predicting an overly active 2013 Atlantic hurricane season with a 70 percent chance of major storms impacting the Northeast.
