Man Seriously Injured In Suffolk Hit-And-Run: Police

The man was crossing the street when a driver hit him, police say.

EAST FARMINGDALE, NY — A pedestrian was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash in East Farmingdale on Wednesday night, Suffolk police said.

A white sedan traveling eastbound on Main Street turned right onto southbound Route 110 and struck Benedicto Lopez-Ramirez, 41, of Farmingdale, who was crossing Route 110 from Great Neck Road toward Main Street, at 9:01 p.m., police said. The driver drove off southbound on Route 110, police said.

Lopez-Ramirez was airlifted to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
