Ozzy Osbourne Receives Tribute From LI Rock Station
"He pushed boundaries, defined generations, and that influence runs deep in every corner of our playlist," 94.3 The Shark's director said.

FARMINGDALE, NY — Long Island rock station, 94.3 The Shark, announced it will honor the life and career of John Michael "Ozzy" Osbourne after his death on Tuesday.
From 5 p.m. Friday to 9 p.m. Sunday, The Shark will celebrate "The Prince of Darkness," the legendary frontman of Black Sabbath who went on to have a successful solo career. Osbourne was 76.
Listeners can expect to hear Osbourne hits and deep cuts all weekend.

Every weekend, 94.3 The Shark spotlights top B-sides and deeper album cuts of rock’s biggest names. This weekend, 94.3 The Shark will feature fan favorite Osbourne deep cuts along with rare, hard-to-find Ozzy gems.
"Here at The Shark, we know that Ozzy wasn’t just a voice, he was a revolution," said Rob Rush, program director of The Shark and longtime radio veteran, in a news release. "Everyone has an Ozzy story and a song that makes them love Ozzy all over again, and this weekend, we’re diving deeper into his catalog — those cuts you LOVE and those you don’t always hear, but should. He pushed boundaries, defined generations, and that influence runs deep in every corner of our playlist. Our tribute is about honoring that fearless spirit."

Osbourne died shortly after his farewell tour.
"It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning," a family statement from Birmingham, England, said, AP News reported. "He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time."
In 2020, he revealed he had Parkinson’s disease after suffering a fall.
Black Sabbath produced hits such as "Iron Man," "Paranoid," "War Pigs/Luke's Wall," and "Changes." The metal band released its first album in 1970.
Osbourne launched his solo career a decade later, releasing his first record, "Blizzard of Ozz," in 1980. His solo career featured hits such as "Crazy Train," "Mama, I'm Coming Home," "Mr. Crowley" and "No More Tears."
