Pedestrian Killed In Suffolk Car Crash: Police

A man was running across the road just before 5 a.m. when he was hit, police say.

EAST FARMINGDALE, NY — A pedestrian was killed after he was hit by a car in East Farmingdale on Tuesday morning, Suffolk police said.

A 52-year-old Amityville man was driving a 2020 Nissan Pathfinder northbound on Route 110, approaching Smith Street, when his car struck Ralph Alexandre, 36, of Westbury, who was running across the road around 4:50 a.m., police said.

Alexandre was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver was not injured, police said.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call the First Squad at 631-854-8152.
