Police ID Pedestrian Killed In East Farmingdale Crash

The man was crossing a road when he was fatally struck by a tow truck, police say.

EAST FARMINGDALE, NY — A pedestrian was fatally struck by a tow truck while crossing a road in East Farmingdale early Tuesday, Suffolk police said.

Angel Miranda, 34, of West Babylon, was crossing Route 109 at Route 110 when he was struck by a 2022 Ram tow truck traveling westbound on Route 109 at 2:30 a.m., police said. Miranda was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.

The driver of the tow truck, a 55-year-old East Elmhurst man, was not injured, police said. The truck was impounded for a safety check.
