Pickleball Courts Open At Allen Park In Farmingdale

The new courts are for pickleball only, making room for tennis players on the existing courts.

FARMINGDALE, NY — Three new pickleball courts opened at Allen Park in Farmingdale this spring.

The new courts are for pickleball only and are located near where the old portion of the park meets the new side.

Allen Park has three pre-existing tennis courts that could also be used for pickleball located in the old part of the park, near the softball field.

Town of Oyster Bay Supervisor Joseph Saladino said pickleball has been growing in popularity within the township.

"It’s a fun, social and healthy activity for residents of all ages," Saladino told Patch. "Combining the elements of tennis, badminton and ping pong, this great sport is easy to learn and fun for families. Due to its increased popularity, we’re thrilled to add more courts at parks facilities throughout our Town, including Allen Park!"
