Summer Break Nearly Over; Main Street Mile Saturday

Here's a quick look at the week ahead in Farmingdale:

1. Today begins the last week of summer break for Farmingdale students. We'll have back to school features all week.

2. Classes resume Monday at Farmingdale State College for the fall semester.

3. The ninth annual “Main Street Mile” will take place on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013 beginning at 9 a.m. (Kid’s Fun Run at 8:30 a.m.) on Main Street in Farmingdale. Details here.

4. Here's a great way to kick off Labor Day weekend: The Farmers Market in the east parking lot off Main Street will be filled with fresh vegetables, pies and other local products on Sunday Sept. 1.

5. With the exception of Monday, the week's weather forecast is generally good for beach days. Highs this week in the mid- to upper 80s.
