Train Kills Pedestrian In Suffolk

BREAKING: The person was not supposed to be on the tracks, and now there are Suffolk-wide cancelations.

EAST FARMINGDALE, NY — A person was fatally struck by a train in East Farmingdale early Tuesday, an MTA spokesperson said.

A person who was not supposed to be on the tracks was hit by the train at the New Highway crossing, the MTA said.

The 7:37 a.m. train from Penn Station supposed to arrive at Ronkonkoma at 9:01 a.m. is delayed west of Pinelawn Station. The MTA TrainTime app lists cancelations of most trains east of East Farmingdale throughout early Tuesday afternoon.
