Train Strikes Pedestrian in Farmingdale

It happened early Tuesday.

A pedestrian was struck by a Long Island Rail Road train early Tuesday in Farmingdale.

It happened at the North Front Street crossing just before 12:30 a.m. The status of the person who was struck is unclear.

Service was suspended in both directions on the Ronkonkoma branch between Hicksville and Ronkonkoma due to the accident investigation, but it has now been restored.
