Woman Crashes Into 2 Cars, Farmingdale Chinese Restaurant: Police
The woman struck two parked cars before crashing into Great Wall Kitchen, a Chinese restaurant, police say.
FARMINGDALE, NY — A woman crashed into two cars and a Chinese restaurant in Farmingdale after losing control of her vehicle on Monday night, Nassau police said.
A woman, 57, was driving a 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe northbound on Broadway when her car left the road around 11:20 p.m., police said. Her Hyundai struck a parked 2017 Ford Mustang, occupied by a man, 30, and an unoccupied 2022 Volkswagen Jetta before striking Great Wall Kitchen, located at 47 Boundary Ave # 4, Farmingdale, police said.
A fire started because of the collision, but it was "promptly extinguished" by the Bethpage Fire Department, police said. The fire extended to the building, but any damage was minor, the fire department wrote on Facebook.

The woman driving the Hyundai and the man inside the Mustang were both transported to nearby hospitals for evaluation and treatment, police said. No other injuries were reported, the department wrote.
No arrests were made. The Nassau County Fire Marshal responded to the scene.

"Ironically in January 2024 we were alerted for a similar type of incident at the same location," the Bethpage Fire Department wrote on Facebook.
On Jan. 26, 2024, Great Wall Kitchen was "devastated" in a car crash, said Kevin Chen, whose parents own the restaurant.
A woman was driving a 2011 Mercedes Benz north on North Broadway when she left the road and collided with a parked 2018 Toyota, Nassau police said. The unoccupied Toyota went through the storefront, and the Mercedes Benz followed, police said. The woman was charged with DWI and third-degree assault.
Great Wall Kitchen reopened a few months later in May.
The restaurant did not immediately respond to Patch's request for comment.
