Man Dies After Jumping From Fire Island Lighthouse: PD
He jumped from the observation deck Friday afternoon, police say.
FIRE ISLAND, NY — A man died after jumping from the Fire Island lighthouse Friday afternoon, police said.
Suffolk County Police homicide squad detectives, in conjunction with the National Park Service, are investigating the man's death.
According to Suffolk County police, the incident took place at about 1:45 p.m. Marine bureau officers responded to the Fire Island Lighthouse after a 911 caller reported a man had jumped from the observation deck, police said.

The man’s identity has yet to be determined. Detectives are asking anyone with information to contact the homicide squad at 631-852-6392.
