In an ongoing program to improve our roads, we milled Washington Avenue between Central Avenue and the LIRR tracks last Saturday. Additional work has started and will continue next week to improve the stormwater drainage, sidewalks, curbs and handicapped ramps on Washington Avenue. Weather permitting, the road will be repaved from curb to curb on Saturday, August 22, and new striping will follow a few days later.

“The safety and improvement of our Village is a priority for me and the Board of Trustees. We will continue to improve our roads and infrastructure within the constraints of efficient financial management of the Village’s resources” said Mayor Benjamin Weinstock. “Since Washington Avenue is shared with the Village of Lawrence, we thank Lawrence Mayor, Alex Edelman, for partnering with us on this project.”
