  3. Hempstead Town Board members will cancel a moratorium on building in downtown Baldwin. The town received a $10 million state grant for downtown revitalization in 2019. (Subscription: Newsday)

  • Donna Harris, United States Postal Inspection Service, warns residents of a scam from a fake “Postal Inspector,” using a technique known as caller ID spoofing to make the calls appear to be legitimate. (Nextdoor)
  • On Sunday, Eva Casale of Glen Cove will run a marathon from Huntington Town Hall to Northport, and then six more, each day until Saturday to raise awareness and funds to honor military veterans and fallen soldiers and their families. (Subscription: Newsday)
  • The Grand Slam for Heroes softball tournament was held to honor NYPD Detectives Jason Rivera and Wilbert Mora, who were killed while responding to a domestic disturbance call in Harlem earlier this year. The tournament raised money for families of police officers killed in the line of duty. (News 12)
