Here are the top three stories today in Five Towns:
- A former NYPD officer, who called himself the "most corrupt" cop was sentenced Wednesday to more than eight years in prison for accepting bribes and attempting to transport heroin. Robert Smith, 45, of Plainview, was sentenced to 97 months in prison. (Patch)
- An Inwood man was taken into custody for criminal possession of a weapon on Tuesday in Cedarhurst. Police saw two men having a loud argument at Westminster Road and Rockaway Turnpike and then found a firearm in the glove compartment of the vehicle of Caleek Killingbeck, 21. (Patch)
- A Valley Stream man, Damian Turner, is in custody for a robbery that took place on Monday afternoon. A road rage incident involving a 56-year-old male victim was recorded by the victim on his cellphone. Turner is accused of then forcibly stealing the phone. (Patch)

- Nassau County Police Department reminds residents that fentanyl is commonly found in fake prescription pills sold by drug dealers, which can cause overdose and death. (Facebook)
- Nextdoor Neighbor, Hewlett/Woodmere: "Is it illegal to park cars on a residential street where you don’t live? Someone has been parking two cars on my block for years. He does not live nearby and constantly parks two luxury cars on my block." (Nextdoor)
