1. An assistant coach for Farmingdale State College's baseball team is accused of making a racist comment about a member of the opposing team during a game between Farmingdale and St. Joseph’s of Brooklyn. Michael McCabe was suspended without pay for one year. (News 12)
2. Nassau County police arrested three men for selling drugs from two stores in Massapequa. A non-fatal drug overdose led detectives to Sunrise Deli Convenience Store, at 1 Park Lane, and Sunrise Smoke Shop, at 33 Sunrise Highway, where Mahendrakumar G. Patel, 39, of Flushing; Meet D. Patel, 23, of Hicksville; and Prem R. Parekh, 20, of Hicksville were arrested for illegally selling THC. (Patch)
3. The Hospital for Special Surgery in Uniondale has expanded to almost double the size. The orthopedic practice is also looking for locations for a new facility on the East End. (Subscription: Newsday)
